KOPPEL BOROUGH PART-TIME MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks as assigned by supervisor
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid driver's license for operating borough vehicles and equipment
- 18 years of age minimum
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds
BENEFITS
- Pay: $15.00 per hour
- Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate trucks, tractors, street sweeper, snow removal equipment, and any other mechanical equipment owned by the Borough under the direction of the maintenance supervisor.
- Utilize grass cutting equipment including riding mowers, zero turns, and weed eaters.
- Utilize hand and power tools
- Paint, clean, maintain all Borough properties including landscape, buildings, parks, streets, alleys, parking areas, walkways, and other areas
DUTIES – Maintain Daily Work Log
Streets, Roads, Alleys and Grassy areas:
- Cut, trim, fertilize, seed and water lawns; plant, transplant, prune, spray, cultivate flowers, trees, shrubs, etc.; establish sub-grades and finish grades for Koppel Park, lawns, alleys and athletic areas, etc.
- Maintain grounds and remove fallen tree branches from parking areas, walkways, streets and alleys, etc. Spread anti-skid material and remove snow when necessary and in a timely manner.
- Sweep streets in designated areas including contracted street cleaning
- Remove residential leaf piles from Borough streets and alleys
- Re-lamp outside lighting fixtures and hang/maintain holiday lighting and decorations
Buildings:
- Maintain Borough buildings (routine cleaning, repair, maintenance, etc.).
- Duties also include other reasonable requests for maintenance issues arising in the Borough that are unforeseen and may not be listed.
